What began as a simple event to promote their business and provide exposure to local DJs, Mega DJ Center’s Last DJ Standing exploded as Houston’s largest DJ competition. According to Alan Herrera of Axxis Media, the competitions consisted of four rounds on Thursday at BLU, with the fourth and final round at Brixx on Washington Avenue. The competition was fierce. With three judges paying close attention to questionable scratches or blends, they were sure to eliminate some competitors. When the smoke settled, only one turntablist remained standing — DJ Don Santos.
